Summer is a’coming…Let’s Go Camping!

With the weather getting warmer the parties are moving outside…YES!!!  We have had a few orders lately for our S’mores themed collection.  We also have had requests for a camping theme – The Camp Out Collection!!

Totally fun, why not invite a few friends over…grab your sleeping bags, tents and flashlight and host a backyard campin’ bash.  Oh…think of the party possibilities chicks!!!???

Real Par’te…Milk & Cookies Birthday!

I am a total lush for some milk and cookies…especially when it involves an oh-so-cute party!!  This is a real party that was put on by one of my amazing customers for her gorgeous daughter Berkley.  Here is the invite we came up with along with some other fabulous details from her daughter’s special day.

I Scream…You Scream…I want some ICE CREAM!!!

Sorry chicks…we have been a little M-I-A lately and have been a’slackin on the posting scene.  I have had to keep my late nights to quite the minimum.  I am usually up until the wee hours of the morning but we just found out we are expecting bebe #3 and I am sooo TIRED!!!  So I am lucky if I make it past 9:30!!!  Anyways…me being preggers may be the inspiration for this post… no…actually I was chill-laxin on Facebook and saw this link for Shop Sweet Lulu via Pizzazzerie and was immediately inspired.  Not to mention I may have had a small craving for ice cream (;  How cute are these ice cream cups fully equipped with wooden spoons…weeeeee-heeee…totally LOVE!!

So how could I pass up all this cuteness?  I had to design an invite that would be the perfect way to kick off your very own ice cream par’te!!!

Recipe Round Up – Dip Day with Mya Bruce Designs

Good morning…today we have a very special guest blogger.  This is Leah of Mya Bruce Designs….friend, neighbor, foodie, graphic girl, DIY Enthusist & jewelry designer (I hope I didn’t leave anything off)  Basically, she is awesome and I asked her if she would like to be a guest blogger today and she said YES!!  Woo-hoo!!  So in honor of my party peeps, she wanted to share some fun dips that would make you party menu legit …soooo…loosen your belt and get ready for some foodie fabulousness!!

I sort of have an obsessive appreciation of food. Maybe I am spending my adult years racing to discover all the beauties of food after the 8 years I ate PBJ at school, just because.  I would like to offer you a simple party food makeover for the slightly daring.

The best thing I contributed at my office over the last 10 years – hands down =

DIP DAY!  WOO!!!!

I’m one of those people that would get giddy over just having loads of appetizers for dinner instead of a main course…. Sunday night dinner here is often just bruschetta, brie and loads of bread slices.
For holidays, the husband deals with the main courses, and I ALWAYS spend way too much time planning the apps & the sides. Those are the best part, right!? I mean, it’s usually the carbs anyway, soooooo….nuf said.

Back to dip day.

So I basically demanded that my office was implementing Dip day, at least once a quarter. Everyone had to bring in something dip-able, and we would just snack on it ALL day!  It was fantastic!

There of course are always the standards:

–         Ranch dip will never go wrong. Who doesn’t like ranch?!?!

–         The classic chili cheese dip is somehow always a big winner as well. You will almost always regret it later, but you will eat it like crack-dip all day until then.

–         Yes, you need some kind of veggie dip because those picky I-only-eat-salad-people will starve otherwise.

But lets move on to how to revamp this idea. Here are some great alternatives to make your party with simple snacks a little bit more gourmet.

HOAGIE DIP!

Come ON! Even the boys will eat hoagie dip. But it’s much more girl-i-fied here by making it pretty in a bread bowl, and topping on to yummy pieces of French bread.

Fresh & New Monday – 2011 Collections

The last few months of 2010 was busy enough that the designig of any new material was set on the back burner…bummer!  I mean, great to be busy,  but I LOVE to design new stuff and I was slacking…a little.  I get a lot of requests for custom work and this tends to take up lots-o-time!!  So, in efforts to keep things fresh and fun I got back to designing some new collections…or at least get a start.

Happy Valentine’s Day Party…on a budget

Happy Valentine’s Day!!  It is good to be back…I have been out of town this last week hence the reason for the lack of posts.  My dad suffered a stroke so I spent my time in the ICU with him.  I am home now and so thrilled to say he is doing great!  So, today I am sending lots of LOVE to him in hopes of a speedy recovery!

Well…it is back to work for me…and in case you never peeked at my “Sweet Tweet” Collection…here it is!!  My sweet and talented friend Nancy from A to Zebra Celebrations and I collaborated on this party that would be great for Valentine’s Day or a darling baby shower.  We managed to pull this off for LESS than $100.00.

How did we do this?  Thanks for asking…here are some tips

1.  Borrow cake stands, platters, dishes, jars – ask around…between Nancy and I we had enough of these items to pull together to complete the table.

2.  Visit the Dollar Store – our local Dollar Store had some great seasonal items that could be incorporated into the party that were just the right colors.

3.  Treats – You don’t need to splurge on all of the treats…homemade it your most budget friendly option, but it is great to have one fabulous item, whether it is the cake, cookies, or cupcakes…that items(s) can take center stage.

4.  Make the party a playdate – for some of the secondary holidays…turn your party into a playdate.  Keep it small by limiting it to a few kids.  Provide the main food and drinks and have other mom bake a treat to bring and share.

5. Coupons – This is a must!!  Joann’s, Michaels, and Hobby Lobby always have coupons…strategize how to use them for that higher priced you have been eyeing up.

6.  Get crafty – try to make as much of the decor as possible by being creative with party printables

These are some super simple tips to help minimize the moola you spend all while throwing a super sweet soiree!!
